Even though each of our journey's with autism are unique, we're all in this together. The book is due out early 2009.

A special thanks to our Literary Agent Janis Vallely for all her hard work and dedication.

NEWS UPDATE - MAKING NEW STRIDES
02/05/2008

Today we are finally going to have our first appointment with a DAN! doctor. We are hopeful that she may have a sound approach to helping our sons along. We have been following the GFCF diet and are seeing some positive results. Stay tuned!

Zachary is reading and Dr. Seuss books are his favorite. He loves the Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham. He can read them cover-to-cover to anyone who listens. Recently, we became aware of Zachary's interest in playing the piano; we're going to sign him up for piano lessons this month and see if his interest continues.

Hunter has gained a larger vocabulary. He continues to work hard at acquiring new words and using them appropriately. He has been spending more time with his brother Zachary and interacting with him and on the computer. Hunter continues on his quest to learn how to use a computer. He manuevers the mouse independently and has been showing more interest in a wide variety of educational learning sites.

Nicholas has been working on PECS (Pictures Exchange Communication System) and he has been communicating wonderfully using his PECS book. He has also learned how to ride a bike! What joy it brought to us watching him wheel out of the front door of the school with a proud smile on his face; priceless. Thanks to his wonderful teachers and therapists, they have been working with him and it shows. He's making tremendous progress.

We BELIEVE firmly that our sons are capable of learning and overcoming the obstacles that have been placed in front of them. We will continue to search for new ways to help them and aid in their journey ahead.

Thanks again for sharing your stories and the many positive inspiring e-mails we are grateful to receive. Please feel free to contact us and we will respond as time permits.

UPDATE ON GMA
12/30/2007

Thanks for the many fantastic e-mails that many of you have sent us. It really hits home how many people are affected and to what extent families will go to help their children. You inspire us and we are grateful that you have taken the time to let us know about your personal struggles and accomplishments.

Here is something we'd like to address about the DAN! protocol. We are currently MILK FREE! We have switched our sons off of it a few months ago. The GMA segment was shot in August 2007 and since we have had lab tests done at Great Plains Labratory as well as a battery of other test for lead and mercury exposure.

We are working towards a complete GFCF diet while trying to change their menu a few items at a time. We have seen a marked difference in their behavior and some speech with just removing the milk. We are scheduled to see a well-known DAN! doctor in our area in February 2008 who we hope will further our sons recovery.

One last thing. We hope everyone has a Happy and Healthy New Year and a prosperous 2008. The best to you and your family.
