Nicholas is non-verbal and has spoken few words since birth. But, he does understand us and often tries to relate through gestures and sign-language his needs to us. We love to hear him say something and often pray that he does; soon. He amazes everyone who works with him. He's a page turner, he loves getting a hold of dad's computer books and flipping randomly through the pages. No People or US Magazine is safe when Nicholas gets them in his sights. He does make some sounds which gives us hope that he will speak eventually.

But most-of-all, Nicholas is very loving and engaging when it comes to his surroundings. His ability to learn and interact are excellent and we keep striving towards higher educational goals for both him and his brothers. There isn't a day that we don't thank God for Nicholas.

Nicholas is a true blessing and he teaches us a lot about ourselves and how we view others. Most of all he teaches us that we can overcome obstacles one step at a time.
