REVIEWS

"The Gastons have persevered with grace and courage through circumstances that would knock any family to its knees. Their willingness to remain open-minded, positive, pro-active and not only committed to their children but to each other in the face of such grave challenge will make it difficult for anyone reading their story to do less. " -- Ellen Notbohm

“Lynn and Randy have written a book which captures both the challenges and the joys of raising children with autism.  They have been brave enough to share their personal story while also distilling the fruits of their labors. Their dedication to not only their own children but to the larger “family” of parents looking for education and support along their similar journeys is evident throughout the book.” -- Pamela J. Compart, M.D.

"This book is a beautifully written account of the Gaston’s efforts to find the most effective form of treatment for their children with autism. Lynn and Randy have taken their experiences of having triplets with autism and turned it into an opportunity for parents to learn how to most effectively advocate for their children with autism. "Lynn and Randy Gaston are fighters, who have worked with (and too often against) the system to obtain diagnoses of autism and responsive treatments for their boys. Alternately heartwarming and tragic, but ultimately uplifting and inspiring, Three Times the Love is a must-read for anyone whose family has been touched by the autism spectrum...and for anyone interested in real-life heroism and courage."  -- Stephen P. Hinshaw, Ph.D

Professor and Chair, Department of Psychology

" Three times the love is a great combination of experiences and valuable resources for parents. As a special educator, I sit at team with the experiences of my friends and family when I talk to parents and make educational plans; trying hard to support their child’s (and family’s) needs with care and understanding.  This book should be required reading for IEP team members who need to see the total effects of their determinations.

The Gaston's speaking out and speaking up for the children and families of autism on television and now in the book is both supportive and inspiring for others.  Even more inspiring is their love for each of the boys and their love for each other as they work through each challenge every new day brings." -- Mary James

Special Education Teacher - Baltimore County Schools

Three Times the Love: Finding Answers and Hope for Our Triplets with Autism is their story of an ordinary American family overcoming extraordinary odds. They write movingly about the first moment when Nicholas finally called Lynn “Mama” - his first word in many years - and when Zachary began to write his name. Their message is one of hope and of the small, but important miracles they continue to experience each day -- Carin Yavorcik

It is books like this that make you feel like angels have been sent down to help others in the same situation. This book was so heartfelt and written with such emotion you could feel it through the each turn of a page. I cried all through this book and then cheered as the heartbreak of Autism went through this family. The determination both parents have to make sure their boys have what they need to overcome this diagnosis is overwhelming.   What a wonderful book.  -- Sandy (Pajama Mommy Blog - Woman's Tribune)
